Creating a Fundraising Structure with Barbara Read.
The Rolling Hills Library made the commitment to put a bookmobile on the road. Raising the money to fund the purchase became a priority for our inactive Foundation Board. Getting the right community people on the board, identifying the money sources within the community, putting together a kick off and sustaining the fund drive will be the focus of the presentation.
Barbara Read was a volunteer for 20 years until she was offered a paid position and went to library school. She then became library director in a small city. Barb is currently the director of Rolling Hills Consolidated Library, a two county system in Northwest Missouri that needs a bookmobile to provide better and more efficient library services for residents in the outlying areas of rural Andrew and Buchanan counties. Fundraising for the bookmobile began in March 2012.
